* You stick the other end of the strip to the inside of the bag.
Nothing sticks to the trash can, so it’s easy to remove when full.
A simple solution
The liner-tightening element disclosed in the patent consists of a simple strip. One end of the strip is attached to the outer surface of a trash can liner. The other end of the strip would include an adhesive patch covered by a release paper.
The liner doesn’t need to be larger than the trashcan
In photos 3 – 7 below, the liner’s opening is only slightly larger than the trash can’s opening. It would be impossible to tie a knot, but you can easily use the strip to tighten the liner’s opening around the trash can’s opening.
The same size liner can be tightened on a smaller trash can
The strip can be used to lock any size liner onto any size trash can as long as the liner’s opening is equal to or larger than the trash can’s opening.
Photos 8 and 9 show the same size liner as used in photos 1 – 7. The only difference is that more slack is taken out and locked in between the ends of the strip.
